Garuda Farms: Hydroponics
Garuda Farms is a 2 bay gutter-connected, 4 Seasons greenhouse located in Tipton, IA. We produce beautiful, consistent, fresh herbs and lettuce varieties year round. Garuda Farms uses hydroponics to grow produce, utilizing 90% less water, and 90% less land than traditional farming techniques. The Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) used on our farm is a growing system that constantly recirculates a stream of nutrient rich water through food grade PVC for growing leaf crops. We will never use pesticides on your greens.
The decision to bring our farm to the lovely city of Tipton, IA has allowed us to deliver our leafy greens within 24 hours from harvest to the shelves of our customers. This allows Garuda Farms to further reduce our carbon footprint, while ensuring only the brightest, freshest ingredients are served to our customers year round. Tipton is the ideal location for us. Our goal is to keep the delivery area within 50 miles of our customer base. Less land, Less Water, More Local. By settling here, we can provide produce to the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City markets as well as The Quad Cities and all of the communities that lie between.
